The “Training Pilot Center,” spanning approximately 3,000 m2 and housing four flight simulators along with their offices and classrooms, was built in an expansion area of the Malpensa Airport situated between the two terminals. The building, realised on a turnkey basis by Moretti Modular Contractor, integrates reinforced concrete and glulam into the prefabricated structures.
The project proved particularly challenging for several reasons. Firstly, its execution was conducted under the direct supervision of ENAC and SEA, in an airport area: an aspect that required extremely careful and efficient site and time management. Furthermore, at the system level, the building requires approximately 950 kW of power for the operation of the four simulators. Moretti Modular Contractor interfaced with Ansett Aviation Results HK’s Project Manager, Renato Sacchetti, ensuring adherence to timelines and costs and providing complete support, also in terms of architectural and structural design.
